NORC & USAID

Countering Trafficking in Persons and Violent Extremism in Bangladesh, Laos and the Philippines

Working with NORC, we conducted end-to-end geospatial data analysis and research to produce insightful data visualizations to support USAID policy efforts to counter trafficking in persons and violent extremism.

In addition, we liaised with USAID country missions, government representatives and local nonprofit partners to request and manage data, including preparation of data sharing agreements. We also compiled, cleaned, mapped and analyzed violent extremism event datasets for Bangladesh and the Philippines using OpenRefine, Tableau and QGIS. We also contributed to writing and editing process. This research resulted in the publication of five reports and a journal article which are linked in the gallery above.
